31.01.26 HIV/AIDS VISUALITIES

The 46th issue of Widok. Theories and Practices of Visual Culture will address questions of HIV/AIDS visualities. It aims to foster critical reflection on the role of visuality in constructing knowledge about HIV/AIDS, and to encourage creative dialogue between theory and visual cultural practice. Edited by Dorota Sosnowska and Katarzyna Szarla, it invites contributions that critically explore the visual dimensions of HIV/AIDS – its representations, absences, and the role of visuality in shaping knowledge, institutions and structures of power, memory and community. Abstracts can be submitted by 31 January 2026.
