15.11.25-22.02.26 THE HUNTING CYCLE (OR NATURE MORTE), KUNSTHAUS ZOFINGEN

The group exhibition KOSMOS[KA·OS] – A Journey Through Space and (Time) at Kunsthaus Zofingen explores the tension between order and disorder, as well as between microcosm and macrocosm. In her video works, Ruth Baettig examines the relationship between humans and animals, opening up a nuanced reflection on the interconnectedness of all living beings. Under the title THE HUNTING CYCLE (or Nature Morte), she presents a series of installations distributed throughout the Kunsthaus – a former shooting house. Through this spatial arrangement, the building itself becomes part of the staging and a resonant site for questions of hunting, ritual and repetition.

Artist Statement – Ruth Baettig: THE HUNTING CYCLE examines hunting as a mediated, historical, and symbolic system of observation and shot/counter-shot.
