MICHAEL HEITZ
Michael Heitz is the founder and director of DIAPHANES, an independent multilingual publishing house based in Zurich and Berlin. With Marie Glassl, he is also the editor of DIAPHANES magazine with a focus on contemporary art, critical discourse and avant-gardist fiction.
As sensitive to the visible as it is to the hidden, DIAPHANES seeks to bring diverse spheres of thought and expression into productive resonance and open up lively spaces for exchange across linguistic and disciplinary boundaries. Interested in a plurality of forms of imagination and knowledge, it gives preference to projects, which develop new textual, visual and performative practices in the face of increasingly conformist sensory regimes and, contrary to an increasingly opaque reality, contribute to preserving and renewing the means of critical thought and free aesthetic sensitivity.
